The following is the second part of the garden series of my photography experiment.
I am still learning a lot but I like how these turned out.

I decided to check out Refresh Belfast last Monday (August 17th) after hearing a few great reviews of previous events. This months Refresh Belfast featured the launch of Ecliptic who have been involved with a range of cutting edge iPhone projects.

A total of 7 talks were given by both Chris and Phil from Ecliptic which covered everything from Xcode to UI accessibility.

Everyone had a great evening and I can’t wait to try out the iPhone applications that Ecliptic will produce, from the sneak peeks we got on Monday they are looking like they will take the app store by storm.

On a side note the event got off to an interesting start with the original venue being double booked. With only 30 minutes to find another that could accommodate over 100 people and have all the necessary facilities, a projector and beer etc it would not be an easy task. Lucky for us Andy was able to secure us a room in the Stiff Kitten and using Twitter to get the word out, everyone was able to get there on time.

To round off an excellent evening I also was lucky enough to win a 16GB iPhone 3GS! It was the first thing I have ever won, how cool is that!? : )

It was great meeting the guys from Ecliptic at Refresh and I wish them the best of luck with their work.

I am looking forward to the next Refresh Belfast and hope to see you there!

On August 15th Belfast hosted the first Cupcake camp in Europe at Blick studios. A fantastic turn out, good times had by all, lots of noms and sugar highs that lasted all day.

Typically I forgot my camera and I had to make do with my iPhone but for good photos check out the #CCNI flickr group and the blog of Phil O’Kane.

The sun was setting when I got home from work tonight so I decided to make the most of it, enjoy the photos.

I picked up my first dSLR this weekend which was a Canon 450D based on a lot of reviews and advice from friends.

As an experiment I will try and post pictures here several times a week. Some pictures may have to be from my iPhone camera as I can’t take my dSLR everywhere, especially when I am away with work.
